He is known for directing the Black Panther film series, Creed, and Fruitvale Station. “Locks” is a student film Ryan wrote and directed at USC. In 2020, as a 9th-grade student, Liv shot, edited, and starred in this short documentary film that shows the effects of COVID-19 on adolescent mental health. This “slice of life” short portrays Liv and her experiences using a time-lapse to convey the endless sameness of lockdown during the pandemic.
